7 days down, 24 to go

We're 7 days into the 31 for 31 challenge and I've already missed a day (Dec 2)… I've been doing 4 exercises each day, 3 sets of 10 reps each: 

  • Clam shells with band
  • Straight leg lift with band (laying on the floor)
  • Standing leg pull back with band - I don't really know what to title this one, but you stand with the band around your ankles and while standing on one leg, pull the other leg back to about the 5 o'clock position and return to the start
  • V-ups
I'm hoping that by doing these exercises I can strengthen my hips and legs enough so that I can avoid any IT band issues as I continue training this winter. The Santa Hustle is next weekend, so hopefully these exercises will stave off any issues. I'm still debating whether I want to go for another PR run or just have fun with this one. I'll probably just play it by ear and see how I'm feeling the morning of the race and what the atmosphere (and weather) is like. Charlotte hit 75° yesterday and the high tomorrow is going to be 38° and rainy so who knows what it will do in the mountains of Tennessee next weekend!
